Black Canyon Heritage Oak Tree

DBCNA
submitted an application to the California Big Trees Program for consideration
of a Heritage Coastal Live Oak tree which is located just off Gold Hill
Grade. Based on a comparison to other large Coast Live Oaks in the area,
this tree is estimated to be at least 120 years old and has a diameter of
approximately 14 ft. Its canopy is estimated to be approximately 110 feet
across. In a letter received from the Northern California Society of
American Foresters, they stated: "We know that you have a certain
amount of pride in this special tree, and that you're committed to
keeping it in as good condition as possible." If you are interesting in
helping with clearing
the brush around this spectacular tree and eliminating renegade trails,
